How did we do in 2021?

2021 -what a busy year it’s been!

Our team expanded from two at the start of the year to the present team of five. Ellie joined Ryan and Cathy in January and then our newest recruits Daniel and Beth joined us in late summer 2021. In between helping so many of our clients through their mortgage journey we have been busy getting our faces on billboards in Mapperley, featuring in several local magazines and making a promo video with local company MyTownVision!

We made a change to our company branding from Key Mortgages and Protection to Key Mortgages, and we updated our website to reflect our new image and add additional useful information. And, although we still offer full protection services for all our clients, we have found that the new name is much easier to work with - both for client and administrative purposes.

At the beginning of the year we were based in Carlton but then with the increase in size of the team plus availability of suitable office space this necessitated a move to Mapperley. We are extremely happy with the present location and are enjoying getting to know all our neighbouring local businesses. Interestingly though, the roaring success of both Zoom & Microsoft Teams video appointments has meant that most clients are happier to stay at home and chat to our advisers online to save on travel, babysitters and most importantly their time. We can also cover a much wider area and although we still love to offer a local service, we’re also happy to speak to anyone from further afield.

July brought about our successful charity partnership with PASIC cancer support, a small charity based at Nottingham’s QMC hospital who help children suffering with cancer and their families. Our summer grand prize draw winner was offered the opportunity to donate £100 to a charity of her choice as part of her prize and once we heard more about the charity and what they do we decided to ask if they would be our charity partner for the remainder of 2021. As a start we arranged to donate £20 per mortgage application submitted and then we also did some additional fundraising for them to raise both funds and awareness -Cathy did Sober for October and raised an additional £100 towards our fundraising target. And Ryan then organised the very first Key Mortgages Charity Golf Day which we are hoping to turn into an annual event. It was a very successful day and raised another £500 toward our JustGiving fundraising target which we have doubled over the last 6 months and is now almost at £2000.

The Key Mortgages Team have voted to keep PASIC as their charity partner for 2022 and are hoping to find more fun ways to raise funds throughout the year. Someone even mentioned the possibility of an abseil so watch this space!

We have so many more exciting plans for branching out in 2022 and are looking forward to helping even more new clients achieve their home owning dream!

Thank you for all your support in 2021.

Happy New Year!
