If you live in the Nottingham area and choose us as your broker, you can expect a convenient and in depth appointment that covers everything you need to get going with your mortgage application.

What is the process of applying for a mortgage in Nottingham?

The first thing you will need to do is to make an appointment with a mortgage adviser. At present our appointments are available on Zoom or Microsoft Teams video calls although we hope to be able to offer limited Face to Face appointments again soon. To make an appointment either give us a call to arrange a time and date that suits you or click on the 'Book appointment' link at the bottom of every page. A member of our service team will then contact you to advise what documentation will be required to make the most of your appointment. During the appointment your adviser will review your options and find those which best suit your individual financial situation.

The initial documents required for your initial consultation may include…

  • Proof of ID - in date passport or driving licence
  • Details of your employment - wage slips if employed. Tax calculations if self-employed
  • Details of existing credit commitments - loans, credit cards, existing mortgage

After assessing your circumstances, you may wish to ask for a 'decision in principle' which is also referred to as an agreement in principle or AIP. This will involve a lender agreeing - in principle - to give you a mortgage, involving an affordability and credit check. Your broker will be able to provide you with a certificate to say how much you can borrow which you can then provide to an estate agent when you put an offer forward on a property.

Once you are at the stage of having your offer on a property accepted you will then book another appointment with an adviser to make a formal mortgage application. If you have chosen us as your broker, we will arrange this for you and then assist you, with your own dedicated client manager, through the whole process all the way to completion.

If you live in the Nottingham area and would like to get started with your mortgage application please get in touch and we will arrange your initial consultation at a time to suit you.
