Fundraising, volunteering and fun!

What a busy couple of months we’ve had helping our charity partner PASIC with fundraising events and volunteering.

Our first event was in May when mortgage adviser Dan and client manager Ellie’s fiancé Owen took part in a sponsored SkyDive at Langar airfield. All the team came out with their families to watch and after a rather cloudy start which delayed them slightly the sun came out so Dan & Owen, plus several other participants were able to jump out of a plane at 14,000 feet! They were braver than the rest of us so well done to both for taking part and raising around £400 each for PASIC.

Then in June business development manager Cathy, client manager Beth and her boyfriend Joel met with other PASIC volunteers to serve tea, coffee, and cake in a garden at Nottingham’s Park Garden Trail. Every two years various homeowners within The Park open their beautiful gardens to visitors to raise money for 10 local charities. This year PASIC was one of those charities once again and they duly set up in Garden No 9 (courtesy of lovely owner Olivia) to serve refreshments to a never-ending stream of visitors. To say the day was extremely hot would be an understatement but great fun was had by all. We’re not sure we ever want to make another scone with jam and cream though – it felt like we made hundreds!

Last, but by no means least, we held our third annual 36-hole charity golf challenge day at Mapperley Golf Club. Arranged by Ryan this event gets bigger and better every year and all the participants are already raring to go for next year’s event! Four teams of four players started at 9.30 in the morning to play 18 holes, a quick break (and we do mean quick!) for lunch and then back out on the course to play another 18 holes! The course is extremely hilly, so all the teams were exhausted when they returned to the clubhouse in the early evening. Friends and family then joined in to partake of a curry made at the Clubhouse and a refreshing pint to cool down while prizes were given out and the raffle was drawn. The weather was glorious and although full figures aren’t yet in a grand total of over £1500 was raised on behalf of PASIC.

Well done boys!

We’re now going to take some charity fundraising time off over the summer holidays, but we’ll be back with more ideas and events later in the year.

Thank you to everyone who has donated their money, time, and energy to making this so rewarding for us – it is very much appreciated both by the Key Mortgages Team & Team PASIC.
