When was the last time you bought a product or booked a holiday without reading the posted reviews first? In this age of online searches, online booking, websites, and social media people are much savvier when it comes to looking at which product or service to use. In fact, we all seem to have come to rely on reviews and star ratings for pretty much everything we do.
Here are some interesting facts:
82% of consumers read reviews for local businesses, including 93% of people aged 35-54. [Source: BrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey]
91% of customers from the ages of 18 to 34 trust online reviews just as much as personal recommendations. (BrightLocal)
84% of people trust online reviews as much as they trust recommendations from friends.
A negative experience, according to some online review’s stats and findings, is more likely to produce a review than a positive one. A consumer is 21 percent more likely to leave a review after a negative experience than a positive one.
Google is the most popular online review platform. 57 percent of consumers use it to read reviews. 56 percent of consumers read at least four reviews before buying a product.
So, either way, a Google review can help other people to find a good service or product and can help a company attract more customers or clients. Even a negative review can help a customer to make a choice because often, it’s the way that company responds to a review (good or bad) that will give an indication of how important that customer is to them.
Also, if you do a google search, you may notice that many of the bigger, named companies are at the top of the list. This is because they are able to pay google to appear near the top but small, local businesses must rely on the number of google reviews to appear anywhere near the top of that list.
And this is why we are so happy to have received over 50 Google reviews here at Key Mortgages and Protection. We quite understand that not everyone remembers or gets around to writing a review at such a busy time, so we are very pleased that so many of our clients have managed to find the time. We had set ourselves a target for 50 Google reviews by the middle of this year – which we have done with time to spare! Now for our next target – 75 reviews by September!
To celebrate hitting that 50 Google review target we decided to have a team building evening out. We visited some other small local businesses in Nottingham after work and had a wonderful evening of celebration.
Annie’s burger shack delivered their usual fabulous burgers and a massive stein cocktail! Annie moved to Nottingham in 1994 and started Annie’s Burger Shack in 2009.
Hidden away behind the cobbled streets of The Lace Market we next visited The Magic Garden. It was very pretty, with plenty of shade from the sun and one of the cocktails we had even had a fish in it! Not a real one obviously but it was a bit of a talking point.
Lastly, we went to make the most of the sun at one of Nottingham’s best/worst kept secrets – The Secret Garden bar. Just off Trinity Walk with a fully stocked Al Fresco bar and courtyard. The service was fantastic, the sun was shining, and their cocktails were fabulous! We will definitely be visiting again but as with all popular venues at the present time will make sure to book early!
Thank you once again to all our fabulous clients – we really appreciate your help with our Google reviews. Keep them coming!!
